42-inch LCD TV Review

Is a 42-inch TV a good size or a bad size? But the question is framed incorrectly: there are various parameters to consider. The manufacturer's technology, screen resolution, LCD panel type, backlight type, integrated audio, SMART TV functionality... and, of course, price—after all, cost is the most important, fundamental characteristic of any product!

Toshiba aims to turn you toward the LCD side of flat-panel TVs with its latest 42XV545U LCD HDTV The 42XV545U ($1,700) incorporates Toshiba’s PixelPure 4G internal digital video processing and 10-bit LCD panels. Additionally, the company’s trademark ClearFrame technology promises to help eliminate motion blur, while its 120-Hz system works to display the image at 120 frames per second for a crisp, clear picture. The LCD is also fully compliant with Toshiba’s CEC technology, known as REGZA LINK, and it includes four HDMI inputs. Toshiba claims its 42XV545U will make an impression on home theater newbies and veterans alike.

This TV is an outdated model. But don't rush to throw it in the trash and run to the store for a new one. If it has no problems, or if the problems are easily fixed at the nearest repair shop, it will serve you well for quite some time... back then, they knew how to make quality TVs!
