Megane или трофей?

В сезоне 2008 года поменялся регламент шоссейно-кольцевых гонок World Series by Renault. В соответствии с ним Renault решил перестроить свой болид Megane Trophy. А тем временем поспела свежая версия гражданского Megane Coupe. Показ обеих знаменитостей решили объединить в один перформанс, рассудив здраво: болидом купе не испортишь. Но получилось иначе: спорткар получился настолько ладным и ярким, что серийное авто, которое вот-вот пойдет в продажу, оказалось в тени.

Аэродинамичность, обтекаемость, прижимная сила - вот основные принципы дизайна настоящего спорткара. И с этим - у новинки полный порядок: новый кузов обеспечивает на 20% лучшую прижимную силу и на 15% меньше лобового сопротивления, чем у предыдущей модели. (Спойлер спереди образует двойной туннель под днищем, где образуется разрежение. Большущее антикрыло сзади тоже использует поток воздуха, но уже тот, что набегает сверху, прижимая корму к трассе.) Но при этом и сам дизайн спойлеров получился ну очень удачным. К слову, примерить его на своем Megane может любой. Аэродинамический комплект поступит в продажу в конце этого года.

Силовой агрегат - положенная по регламенту 3,5-литровая «шестерка», доведенная до ума мотористами Renault. Теперь она выдает 360 л. с., что на 30 «коней» больше прежнего. С такими техданными Megane станет соперничать с самим Porsche GT3.

Ну а простым смертным не остается ничего другого, как ждать дебюта «горячей» Renault Megane Sport.

Megane or Trophy?

Meanwhile, a fresh version of the civilian Megane Coupe was ready. It was decided to combine the show of both celebrities into one performance, reasoning sensibly: you can’t spoil a coupe with a racing car. But it turned out differently: the sports car turned out to be so neat and bright that the production car, which is about to go on sale, ended up in the shadows.

Aerodynamics, streamlining, downforce - these are the main principles of the design of a real sports car. And with this, the new model is in perfect order: the new body provides 20% better downforce and 15% less drag than the previous model. (The front spoiler creates a double tunnel under the bottom, where a vacuum is created. The huge rear wing also uses the air flow, but this time the one that runs up from above, pressing the stern to the track.) But at the same time, the spoiler design itself turned out to be very successful. By the way, anyone can try it on their Megane. The aerodynamic kit will go on sale at the end of this year.

The power unit is a 3.5-liter "six" required by the regulations, brought to mind by Renault engine specialists. Now it produces 360 hp, which is 30 "horses" more than before. With such technical data, the Megane will compete with the Porsche GT3 itself.

Well, mere mortals have no choice but to wait for the debut of the "hot" Renault Megane Sport.
